Laura Linney is an American actor who has become well-known for her performance of vulnerable but strong characters. While spending her summers in the home of her father, she developed an interest for the stage. After studying in Brown University for a while and then later, she attended Juilliard School to study acting. Following her graduation from Brown University in the year 2000, she made making her Broadway debut soon afterward. Within two years of that, her first film hit the market, and following year, her debut on television. Since then, she has appeared in countless films and stage and television productions. She has been awarded numerous prizes throughout her career. They include 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. However, despite all the nominations and awards, her enthusiasm for theatre remains, and she continues to perform both as a stage performer and screen.
